Are We There Yet

By |2016-12-31T02:17:29+00:00October 14th, 2015|A Mother's Journey|0 Comments

Well, no we're not.  However, I've got some amazing people working really hard on the sound design and the colour grade for A Mother's Journey.  So as I said in my last post, next thing to organise is a premiere screening for friends, family and all my wonderful cast and crew. I've got an ideal date, but not a venue.  This is due to the exorbitant cost of screen hires.  Which means we'll be booking this at the very last minute to try and get the cheapest rate possible.  Even then it's still a tad expensive.  However, I think everyone involved deserves to watch the completed film in plush surroundings and not on a giant screen in a pub.  Which brings me to the reason for this post.  To be able to afford something decent, I'm going to have to sell some tickets (cos that has gone so well for [...]

AMJ: Poster is finally done

By |2016-12-31T02:17:29+00:00September 30th, 2015|A Mother's Journey, Film, Short Film, Short Story|0 Comments

So it took me a moment, but I finally got the poster done.  One of the major problems with a no budget project is that one becomes a jack of all trades.  So I shan't be giving up my day job. Anyway, I think I said something along the lines of it took me ages to create the posters and for someone who isn't a graphic designer, it's not such a bad job.  So basically I was patting myself on the back, [...]

AMJ: Picture is Locked YAY

By |2016-12-31T02:17:30+00:00September 17th, 2015|A Mother's Journey, Film|0 Comments

It's finally official, yesterday picture was locked on A Mother's Journey and now it's a case of waiting for sound design and the grade to be done.  I'm proud of what I've accomplished so far, but this film still has a long way to go before it is as AMAZING as I know it can be. When I started this journey, I had aspirations of submitting it to the big festivals, getting in and eventually winning an Oscar.  Some may say it's an impossible dream, a pipe dream given the state of the industry today.  But I can't let those old fears derail me and hold me captive, what I've got to keep doing is striving and reaching for the improbable.  Not sure who said it, but it's a quote I love to write when doing a book signing; Reach for the stars and the moon shall [...]
