The last time I wrote a blog post was May 2016. My first and only trip to the Cannes Film Festival. So what's happened since then? Life has happened, lots of ups, lots of downs, however I'm still here striving and trying to make things happen. Rather than write a long blog post, I've decided to share a few pictures from events and things I've been doing. I promise to not let another 2 years go by before I write another post. :-)
I’ve always loved watching films and I can spend a whole day in front of a TV screen or at the cinema, lost in the land of celluloid. I’ve also always loved reading and have been known to bring a book to a party. I know, boring and socially awkward doesn’t even begin to describe my teen years. If I was to have a conversation with my brother about the current global climate, he’d tell me these are the signs that were promised in the book of Revelation and that the world as we know it is coming to an end, and very soon. Some may scoff at this notion, however, maybe what we need to do is to look at this metaphorically instead of literally. One has only to take one look at the headlines to know there’s a grain of truth in there somewhere. Several months ago a religious fundamentalist group called Boko Haram, kidnapped over 200 girls in the name of Allah. I’m pretty sure Allah does not condone the kidnap, rape and torture of young school girls. Yesterday I attended one of those SEO courses, learnt a lot and went home feeling that my website needs another big overhaul, barely a year after the last overhaul. Such is the pace of technology. How did things get easier, yet more complicated? Once upon a time, a website was all about search engine optimisation (SEO) now it's all about likes and shares, social ranking and all the things that make me break out in a cold sweat. Yep, I had issues growing up. Tutor took a quick look at the current site and his advice was to integrate a visible social media presence into my website so people can connect with me.
