DJ,

I feel so mean, but not really.  Because the way I figure it, they should return my book if they’re not going to stock it.  I sent Justin Hutchinson a copy of Imagine This to consider, got the usual letter back saying and I’ve decided to quote directly from the letter.

‘We do not feel at present that we are able to add this book to our range.  I am sure you appreciate that there are thousands of new books published every year and we do have to make some tough decisions.’

There you have it.  I know it’s all down to marketing and unfortunately I don’t have that sort of clout behind me.

Anyway, I’d sent him a review copy. So when I got the letter, I decided to call him up and ask for my book back.  Even though I didn’t include a SAE he was gracious enough to say he’d put it in the post, hence the reason I’m feeling mean.  I still haven’t received it, but then I haven’t been to the post office in several days. From now on I’ll make sure to add a SAE so they can return it.  I’t makes good business sense to pay for postage than let them have a £7.99 book.  Maybe I should call up all the papers and demand it back, since they won’t be reviewing it.  Hmmm
