I’m still in avoidance mode.  Went out and bought six great books which I intend to read.  That doesn’t exactly leave me with much time to get any work done.  My excuse this time, is that I’m researching other writers styles.  My reasoning is that, to be a great writer, I must also be a great reader.  The likelyhood though is that I’ll be doing more reading than writing.  

I just can’t seem to get into starting this story.  All the pieces are in my head, I know where the beginning middle and end.  But I just can’t seem to work out the opening paragraph.  From past experience, I know that if I’m not happy with the first draft, then I get stuck with the same paragraph and the writhin doesn’t seem to progress beyond the opening lines.

As an added distraction, I’ve joined the facebook crowd and have now merrily spent the last 3 hours finding friends I have no intention of speaking to.  Go figure.
