Molodist and beyond

So last week, I went to my first international film festival and I have to say I was pretty excited to go.  A car was sent to pick me and two other guys up. Manuel, who is a producer and had a film in competition and Henrik, an actor. We of course became fast friends as strangers do in a country where you know no one and can't speak the language.  We had 5 mins to change once we got to the hotel for the opening ceremony. (See attached pics) Having never walked down a red carpet to snapping paparazzo and TV cameras, yours truly had to strut her stuff and do the walk. It was a good thing I had my shades on, because the flashes were blinding.  What was funny about the whole experience was the fact that none of us had tickets to the opening film and [...]

Had a Nightmare

Ouch, so now I'm thinking, OMG what if no one turns up. Well I do know 10 people who are definitely coming, had to snag those tickets pretty quickly.  I think I have this anxiety due the fact that during [...]

Film Festival update

The other day, I greeted the news that my short film More Cake was going to be screening at Raindance Film Festival with ambivalence.  On the one hand I was happy it had been accepted as one of the MA films showing, but there was a part of me that was disappointed because I knew friends, family, cast and crew would only have this one chance to see it on the big screen. There will only be the one screening.  To make matters worse, it's in the middle of the afternoon on a work day so the likelihood of people turning up is also going to be minimal.  Which is probably a blessing in disguise considering the theatre only has 88 seats.  Which brings me to the point of this post, anyone who would like to see what I've been yammering on about for the past 6 months will have [...]
